Basically if you haven't read Phil Davis' "Beyond the Zone System"
most of his software won't be of any use to you. It automates the
film and paper testing (including plotting data), and exposure and
development calculations from the book and includes notetaking (that
the original BASIC handheld couldn't do). I'm putting off buying it
until I can set up a darkroom. I have bought the cardboard widget,
but I haven't spent enough time with my large format camera to play
with the widget yet.

I guess I should have mentioned that most of my non-Sputnik
photography is done with 4x5 cameras, there fore the slant towards
large format B&W software.

Bob Wheeler also has a paper available on his page that does a
comparison of various photography software and gadgets.

Just to avoid confusion, the version you saw on her web page is a CGI
script. The sock calculator is the application she uses to learn a
new programming environment. Liz is still working on the Palm
version.
