I tend to agree with your unique chart by way of practical use. I don't get
bogged down in the minute technical because to be honest, I usually shoot at
F11 to F16 (soon to be F22), try not to have any immediate foreground
closer than 5 or 6 feet anyway, and keep the lenses parallel (although I
understand that toe-ing in without infinity objects can be done). This
allows me to concentrate more on the artistic angle and compositions. Also,
it's more fun! (in my opinion anyway). I THOUGHT that 1:30 rule did not
alway's apply... now I know why! It also seemed that shooting with wider
lenses (24mm Focal Length in 35mm format) allowed me to 'cheat' more on the
stereo base by getting closer than I was supposed to with the 1:30 rule.

Tom, could you produce a chart like this for the base of 100mm (about
average I guess for MF
spacing with dual cameras I suppose) and lens focal lengths of 50mm and 80mm
?

Way to go! By the way, I wish I could make it to your stereo dinners but
out here on the Left Coast we have a ton of great Mexican restaurants...
(but NO stereo on the menu!)
