RE: Seagull TLRs

Mike, Very interesting letter. I have a very unusual Chinese camera
bought in a Beijing market and well used. It is called a RED STAR
and has no viewfinder at all !!!.
My in-laws are Beijingren and my father in law has a very early
Seagull which he says he had before the war. His memory is not
what itwas as he is well over 90 at the moment.
Do you know the GREAT WALL 6X6 SLR?
I have one and it was not intended for export, this is for home
consumption and was bought in a camera shop in Wangfujing
Street in 1993. Optically it is very good, but the metal FP shutter is
the noisiest thing since the Churchill tank.
Cost me Y190 which at that time was about 17 pounds sterling, or
$34 Australian (I had just left Adelaide).
