You should.  :^)  All "my" good ideas come from people on the list.

YES!  :^)

I set mine and leave it.  But when I hand it to other people, 
especially people who have never seen stereo, the sliding thing 
sometimes boggles them.  I've gotten to the point where I focus it 
for me (I have good uncorrected vision) and just hand it to them 
pre-focused.  We only play with it if they balk.

The fine focus is not a problem for me, although mine is sanded very smoothly.

I would think it would add quite a bit complexity, manufacturing time 
and materials cost.  The original Saturn is a miracle of simplicity.
