I built a viewer

I built a nice little viewer this summer, and just put together a web
page to display it. Robert Thorpe has graciously agreed to add it to
his viewer gallery, but until then, I put a copy at
http://www.deering.org/viewer

There are a couple special features. First, it was made with finger
joints. Something like 364 little interlocking fingers. The top is
stenciled like some antique viewers. The brass has a green patina.
I like the looks. I also shaped the nose hole instead of cutting it
flat.

I put together an LED based illuminator, but scorched the expensive
LEDs in the process. I think Richard's CCFL lamp is the right
replacement.

Mahogany, cemented two element coated achromats, trombone focusing.
Take a look and tell me what you think.

You know, it's odd. I have shown this to about 25 people, and nobody
seems to notice the handiwork or details. You other hand-builders get
this, or is it me?
