Thanks for the info Sam. I wonder if forgetting about a dual cable release
and making up some sort of hinged bar that would push down both shutter
release buttons would give better results (for twin cameras on a bar). It
would also be more rugged. I don't think walking around with cable releases
sticking out of cameras is a particularly good idea. You're bound to break
something sooner or later.
The real solution is of course to hack the cameras into one body and
internally link the shutters. But stopping short of that, I've been
contemplating bolting the cameras to a bar and linking the focus and aperture
with external pushrods. The shutter speeds would be set separately. The
inter-lens distance would be 112mm. Hyper but not excessively so. The only
real stumbling block would be syncing the shutters.
Any ideas welcome...
