Actually, two of the old flash units were used in Star Wars...
I've made about $6-700 selling Graflex and Hieland (Darth Vader
used the Hieland) to the Star Wars fans... Always just dumped the
reflectors and all the other junk in the trash on the way out of the
camera shows. >:) I had a little casting mold to make the fins around the
base. Only a 5000% profit or so... love those Star Wars fans! As far as
I'm concerned, the main use of the Graflex flash unit is to make money for
me, not photography. :)
If you stay away from the one Graflex model and the Hieland, there are
still a lot of large flash bulb units to be found for a couple of
dollars in camera show junk bins for cheap. I could have bought
two or three of the non-Star Wars models in good condition and complete
for $10-15 at the last Puyallup camera show.
