I built a specialized version of a stereo XA2 rig that had quick change
stereo wide angle and telephoto adapters (my own design, not Mike's). But
the most fun was building a wireless Nikon Lite Touch rig following the
superb design Ed Comer came up with (the camera rig is not any larger than
the XA2). The cameras lock in place and don't have to be removed from the
base-bar to reload film. Being motorized and automatic focus (don't buy
the current issue zoom models-- get the ones with the 28mm lens) with
built-in flash, the Nikon is a dream to use, but is a good bit more
complex than the XA2 system in terms of camera modification. (Be
absolutely SURE you have the flash capacitor discharged... I managed to
vaporize a chunk of blade on one of my Hama screwdrivers... it would do
the same to your finger... :)
