There was a very good set of articles on bokeh in the May/June 1997 issue of
PHOTO Techniques magazine (Vol. 18, No. 3):
"What Is Bokeh?" by John Kennerdell
"Notes on the Termnology of Bokeh" by Oren Grad
and "A Technical View of Bokeh" by Harold Merklinger
Probably more info than anyone really wants re: bokeh.
