Back from Montana!
Hi Guys,
Yeah it was a quick trip but I needed a rest! The big problem with bring
along a group of non-hiking AND more importantly non-stereo freaks is that
I had to spend most of my time shopping and sitting around a campsite
drinking beer(not that there's anything wrong with beer- even tried
huckleberry wheat ale).
But there was good news. I did make it to Photographer's Formulary, which
turned out to be only 1 hour out of Kalispell, Montana. What a cool place!
No sign, I couldn't find it until I asked at the local gas station and was
told to "look for the place with the big boulders in front". What I found
was more like a Ranch than a store, with a beautiful log home, horses
roaming free, and a mountain backdrop you'd kill for! Bud was a really nice
guy, even though they never expect walk-in traffic. He even let my
city-bred daughter Miranda take a quick Horse ride! I picked up the Pyro
kit, as well as a few other had-to-get chemicals.
Today was my last day and my only chance to shoot. I took a few shots of
waterfalls and scenics color and some neat glacier ice formations in B&W.
I'll keep my fingers crossed until I get it all processed. Glacier Park is
absolutely gorgeous, even better in my opinion than our Famous Banff and
Jasper Parks. Well worth the 3D visit!
Thank you all for the Pyro notes. I'd especially like to read the notes
sent by Tony, but I can't get my viewer to read the PCX file. If it is
possible to send me the notes personally in another format (not to the list
unless requested) I'd really appreciate it.
Regards,
Sam
