I think my are equal in length. But if both
images have the point of focus the same I wouldn't
worry about it.

Odd. Was the subject you focused on sharp? Or
was the point of focus further back than it should
be? (Having shots taken at f5.6 should help you
see this).
Perhaps your finder and or distance scale are
out of calibration relative to the taking lenses.
