Re: Sputnik vignetting

I looked through the lens as you suggested. Only if I
looked through at an angle could I see the shades. I also
looked through with ground glass on the film plane and
didn't see any vignetting. I had filter retaining rings
added between the push on adapter and the lens shades and
just took those off just in case. It brought the shades
significantly closer to the lenses. So, if filter retaining
rings was the problem, I guess no one uses filters with the
retaining rings and lens shades on the Sputnik? I am going
to N.Y. tomorrow to knock around and take pictures. Too bad
no one processes medium format in an hour so I could check
for vignetting. If I still get some vignetting, I will have
to do some masking before it goes off to the MF folio! ;^)
Thanks for the help. When I get the film processed on
Monday, I will let you know how it went.
