Just tested my new "SPUD"

I just tested my just acquired Spud which I purchased in Coney Island New
York(Russian Community)  Went out to sail boat marina.  Used  fujichrome
50/120
Middle pictures were breathtaking but first 2 and last 2 had some light
swirl on it.  I never used 120 format film before and when I handed it in
film was not tightly rolled and pasted down.  Technician told me that this
caused the light flare in first 2 and last 2 shots.  Otherwise the middle
of the role was perfect!!.  Can anybody give me advise?  Was it improper
film loading or inherent to the camera itself?
