+2 dipoters means that if the camera is focused
at infinity then the CU lens will bring a subject
at 1/2 metre in focus. (ie 1/diopters).
If you focus the camera to minimum distance you
gain about another diopter so the focus point is
now about 1/3 metres.

My Amarylis Stamens photo (on it's way to
you) was taken with a tlr and a +11 diopter
closeup lens.
