Stylus photo 700 viewcards?

Forgive me if this has been discussed before. I remember seeing the
NSA '98 Panorama shots being printed out on panoramic paper on the
Stylus photo printer. I thought the results were pretty noteworthy. In Dec.,
I saw the output from the new Stylus Photo 700 model at my local Best
Buy. I was really blown away. 1440 x 720 dpi in six colors - I don't think
even the Canon w/ 7 colors or even the Alps w/ 2400 dpi dye-sublimation
can beat the prints that I've seen. I bought one from www.buy.com for
the lowest prices I've seen. Despite hearing me rave about the print quality
my computer and photo-savy friends still were amazed after seeing a
real print. The sample prints I made were from the Epson CD, very
"pro" stock photos, most likely done w/ larger format cameras. The
results are really sharper that any glossy magazine photo and beats
just about any standardard 35mm lab print I've seen. Moreover, the
4x5 glossy photo paper prints, when removed from their perforations,
exactly span the width on my Q-vue windows (though the height will
need cutting).
The EX model I'm getting at work will make 11.7 x 44 " photo prints.
Epson says their digital cameras plug directly in to the printers for
direct output, w/o a computer and the printer series is the first endorsed
by some photographer's society.
Of course, the inks won't last as long as a real photo's, and I don't
know just how much more economical it is, compared to real photos
(despite Epson's claims of Stylus enlargements being cheaper that
lab enlargements.) But, you owe it to yourself to check it out if this
kind of thing interests you. The printers can be found at Best
Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, etc.. Ignore the sample printouts on
plain paper and slide out the little black trays underneath the printer
display stands to see the encased samples of real deal.
