Doesn't that always seem to be the case?!
It is probably very critical on where the diaphragm is placed,
the type of lens design, and the size and spacing of the holes.
And my guess is that the smaller the lens the more critical these
factors become.
If I ever get around to trying this I'll pass on any observations
I obtain.
