What a 35 mm projector will do:
          _____
         | | ________
         | | | |
         | | | |
         | | |________|
         |_____|

Either way it's 24 x 36 so diagonal is 43.3.
Superimposed:
          _____
        _|_____|_
       | | | |
       | | | |
       |_|_____|_|
         |_____|

Superslide:

        _________
       | |
       | |
       | |
       | |
       |_________|

37x37 has a diagonal of 52.3
40x40has a diagonal of 56.6

Either of these superslide sizes requires
a lot more of the projection lens (or viewing
lens if that's what you are using) than the
standard 35 m slide does. Only the exterior
dimensions of the slide mount are truly
compatible.

Which leads me to my question: Are superslides
noticeaby softer in the corners when projected
or viewed than 35 mm slides? (Provided you are
not using a $$$$$ Zeiss or Schneider or Leitz
shiftable projection lens.)

Thanks,
John
