[OT] Lens Fungus

I just received a Zeiss Ikon Nettar 515/2 that I won on an Ebay
auction recently. No, I'm not trying to bring the Ebay debate to this
list. :)
Unfortunately there is a considerable amount of fungus on the lens.
It's on an element that is behind the front focusing element, but in
front of the shutter. A local camera store told me that it wasn't
worth what I would have to pay them to have them try and clean it. I
swabbed at it with a Q-tip and alcohol, but I don't think I did any
good. I haven't tried removing this element from the shutter (it's
held in by a C clip). I'm going to run a roll of film through it and
see how bad things are.
Does anybody have any idea how hard it would be to find another camera
of this model with a bad body and a good lens so that I could do a
lens swap? Other than the lens the camera is in pretty nice shape.
("Other than the fact that he is missing his heart, the patient is in
remarkably good physical condition.")
By the way, on the shutter there is a red dot between f/11 and f/16
and another red dot on the focusing element between 8m and 15m. What
are these dots for? Do they indicate a general "best" setting for
taking pictures (perhaps a hyperfocal setting for the lens' best
aperture)?
