Re: Hyper

Hyperstereo simply means a taking lens separation greater than the
typical eye separation (approx. 65mm). The effect of hyperstereo is to
exaggerate the sense of depth and 'miniaturize' the subject. Landscapes
often benefit from hyperstereo since the subject's distance from the
camera can diminish the 3d effect. Hyperstereo can recover or exaggerate
the depth in the photo.

For a tree 100' away you might use a 6" to 12" separation. For a mountain
1/2 mile away you might use 30' separation. There's a formula to
calculate more exact numbers if you like.

Someone once described hyperstereo to me as like being a giant with eyes
3' apart. You see lots of depth due to the increased parallax, but
everything looks small :->

Hope this helps.
