Large format stereo

OK you 4 x 5 guys I have the screwiest film holder I have ever run across.
First it weighs 10 lbs. on the bathroom scale, doesn't really feel that heavy.
It is 6" X 12 1/2" with the picture opening exactly 4" X 10". The dark slide
withdraws from the 12" side and the 6" side has a very sturdy handle for
sliding into position. The grooves into which it slides would be 5 7/16" wide
but relatively narrow, perhaps 3/32 to 1/8". The film fits into the window but
a ledge in the center seems to indicate to me it was made for plates.
I can't see how sheet film would lie flat with this ridge in the center. Just
taking up room here so $15 + postage you can build a stereo around it.
