An easy way to do this (at home, anyway) is to loosen the tripod
bolt on both cameras, and use a large flat surface (e.g., table)
as an alignment tool.  Just place the two cameras face down on the
table, making sure they are loose enough to rotate freely.  Then
tighten up the tripod bolts while the twin rig is still on the
table.  (Works with SLRs; don't know what your M7s look like.)
