This is a really superb reply! If you missed it the
first time it bears repeating!
Also, if you don't understand some of the issues (like
ortho, and matching the taking/viewing FLs, recall that
Sam pointed out in message 1171:

In depth discussion of general stereo photography concepts and
issues that are not specific to medium format 3D are better

As far as your experimenting, you could try to borrow or rent
a medium format stereo viewer. You could also sign up for
the MF Expo 2000. See http://www.rmm3d.com/funlearn/mfexpo.html
That way you can view your test slides using the viewer that
will circulate with the expo. Depending on how soon your test
images will be ready to view, that just might be an ideal
solution.
