Nobody has called me on my comments on this topic yet, so I
need to make a correction to my own analysis. I forgot to
factor in the fact that you are proposing shooting wide base
and with no built-in stereo window.
You go on to propose using a 63mm aperture for images that are
68mm wide. This is not equivalent to having 5mm of horizontal
adjustment room with the Sputnik, which has a built-in stereo
window. One more reason to be a little more conservative with
your maximum aperture width.
