NO as long as you are comparing the same format to the same format. It 
is the viewing method and not the format that "degrades" the image. A 
MF slide in the BEST hand viewer will look better in all respects to  
the same image projected with the BEST projection system. If you used 
the best projector and the worst viewer all bets are off *{;-)

Obviously the best MF slide will always be better than the best 35mm 
slide. And probably a projected MF slide will be better than a 
handviewed 35mm. This is just a guess as  have not yet seen a projected 
MF slide.

It is also my opinion that the amount of this "degradation" is the 
same. A 35mm image will be degraded say 10% (arbitrary number) as will 
a MF image. But if a MF image is 50% (arbitrary again) better to begin 
with then the perceived degradation might be less. I have probably not 
stated this very well so I hope you understand what I am trying to say.
