Yes, that is what is being required for the MF slide show at the 
Buffalo NSA Convention.

If you are lucky like me (I am just starting MF and have only shot 
three rolls so far) you can just shoot in camera dupes with one for 
hand viewing and one for projection. As they say - film is cheap! 
However, if you have a big backlog of images then you do have to make 
the choice to unmount and remount. Of course with in camera dupes that 
means only three stereo pairs from a 120 roll.

One other option is to make a 6x6x2 viewer. Doesn't Daniel Greenhouse 
have one on the MF Viewer page? The Japanese page you listed in your 
other post will sell you one for a few thousand $$$.

As has already been discussed here, there are benefits to a projected 
show (no matter what the format). It will definitely be worth it for 
the audience. Whether or not it will be for you is a personal decision.

Could you imagine the 35mm NSA stereo theater done with hand viewers?
