  Sorry. Maybe I should have said 10' to infinity.

  With a Sputnik I think 7' to infinity shots are okay
as far as OFD goes. At least for those of us who can
handle 2.7mm.

  With my home built SR225 my minimum distance is
close to 10'

  Depth of field is a problem with medium format and
normal lenses.  But some of us have cameras that can shoot
at f32 and smaller.

  Hyper relates to stereo base bigger than normal eye separation
(usually assumed to be 2.5"). It doesn't really have anything to
do with 7' to infinity shots. As long as you don't exceed the max
OFD you should be okay.
