Not all pictures need reaching to infinity, in fact
the best part of normal (about 65 mm) base stereopictures
is often between 7 and 10 feet (2 to 3 m).
When depth of field is restricted, it is better to cut
at the far end of the scene than at the near end, in
my opinion. At infinity there is no stereoperception...
