Hi'
Regarding pinholes.
I made a stereo pinholer some while back and it was very sharp,
considering that there was no lens.
A lot depends on how thick the metal is which contains the hole
and how sharp the hole is.
Microscopic distortions in the hole make a big difference.
When we made ours, we sandwiched a 1" square piece of steel
half a millimeter thick between two pieces of 3mm ply which had a
half inch hole cut out of it.
The metal was visible in the hole. We did this twice, of course.
A collegue of mine took it into his place of work and "shot" two
holes through the metal plates of quarter of a mm with a laser.
These were VERY sharp holes and very small.
We exposed FP5 for 1 hour pointed at a reasonably busy shopping
mall. When we developed we had a shopping mall with no people.
Quite stunning, really. I just suppose no-one stood still long
enough to register. It could have done with a little more exposure,
but it was an experiment and we never repeated it.
Now you have brought the subject up, I might just look it out and
have another go. If I do I will send some results as attachments.
