I love camera hacking talk. A while back I'm sure
I was the champion of the list.
I like Alan's Sputnik with mamiya lenses. To bad
the clearance is so tight or it would be easier for
more people to build.
I've often talked about building a camera around
Mamiya TLR lenses. With some sort of removable
lens plate you could have different FLs.
Mechanically linking all those shutters would be a
pain so I came up with my idea of putting 35mm
electrically tripped SLR shutters behind each lens.
Perfect sync should be pretty easy. And accurate
shutter speeds (due to electronic control).
And if you did it right you could have the interchangable
lenses in front of the shutters. So one shutter set fits
all.
My other camera hack dream would be to have
front lens board tilt. Then you could have the ground
in the foreground off to infinity in focus without using
f32 all the time. Might be handy.
Would be hard to adjust unless you do it by calculation.
Unless all three lenses (taking, viewing, taking) were
in line. Then the viewfinder would be subject to the same
tilt and would show the effect of the tilt.
The problem that causes is a large stereo base unless
you somehow get very small shutters for the lenses.
Maybe those 35mm SLR shutters I mentioned above :)
I also like the Darcyflex and Bob's ebay camera.
But mostly I dream and drool over things/features I
don't have.
S'all for now - Greg E.
