So far I haven't suffered greatly with banding on either the Widelux or 
Horizon. I've been using the Widelux for around 7 years the Horizon maybe 
two years - can't remember exactly.

Others have been less fortunate. I think a common cause may be dirt in the 
mechanism. Its also a good idea to give them plenty of exercise. So far as 
I know age is not a problem with this.
