I can confirm that the choice of film scanners if not as simple as might
first seem. As has already been mentioned the degree of enlargement needs to
be accounted for when calculating resolution of the scan, and make shure
that it is the scanners optical resolution not interpolated. I also agree
with the importance of colour depth 30 bit seems to be a minimum if you want
good results.

I have persevered with an Epson FS200 for the past 6 months but have finally
come to the conclusion that it is not up to the job. I have been looking at
the new Nikon Coolscan 3. Has anyone had any experience of it yet? Any other
suggestions around the Coolscan3's price would be gratefully received.
