9 Images on 220 roll in Linhof 617 Technorama

If you place the arrow on the roll of 220 film about one centimeter before the
arrow mark in the camera, you can get 9 exposures to the roll. Any good lab
will make sure not to put a hole in the film from hang drying it with one of
those nasty spiked clips most people use.

Anyway, after taking your first exposure, release the film advance knob, and
then turn manually the film counter back to one. Then take you 8 exposures for
a total of nine. In this way, you can take three shots bracketed up and down.
Or whatever.

Enjoy!

As with all 220 film, make sure your presure plate is set, and that the film
is spooling just perfectly from the start. I have found that Fuji and Ilford
never guive me trouble, but that Kodak sometiems does, because their paper
leaders are inferior. One new roll of film by Kodak once had a raggedy edge,
and I had trouble winding the film when finished shooting. I then ahd to open
thje camera in the dark and rewind the film onto the spool! Yuk!

Does anyone else have troubles with Kodak rollfilm in 617 or other pan
cameras?
