Black ABS Pipe is usually sewer pipe.... The white Schedule 40 is drinking
water pipe.
There is a black pipe for drainage fields, usually 3 or 4 inch diameter that
is much cheaper and probably not light tight.
One foot diameter pipe would be very expensive.   The 6 inch stuff is about
$70 for 20 feet of schedule 40.

"Rango"
brand has a vinyl snap-on end cap system that allows you to make sets of
different length troughs for paper or film.
