That would work to keep both surfaces from touching, but the idea of
dusting the film and scanner
with corn starch is not too appealing. Then again we use to use nose grease
to fill in stratches!!
I had tried an anti-newton spray on film in the past that also work but
that left a spotty
residue on the film too.
I think floating the film in a carrier is best and pulling it flat with
tape is best.
