I had the same problem with a Patterson tank: When inverting the
tank, the reel would ride up on the spool, so the chemistry
would no longer cover the film. I solved this problem by cutting
the bottom off a plastic 35mm film can and using it as a spacer.
The same spacer works for both 35mm and 120 film.
