I tried Bob's method of using a paterson tank on B&W, and couldn't get the
film on the spool even in daylight (a test roll ) . Bob shoots mostly color
neg film, using #10 film and cutting it down on a band saw. The #10
vericolor has a thicker base and holds it's shape better. The #8 verichrome
B&W has a thinner base, and seemed impossible to get on the reel. Maybe I
was doing something wrong. Who knows. Jamie
