Re XPan

The XPan has a field of view equal to a 25MM lens w/ 35MM
film....so perhaps not truely pano.  But I too am tempted. They sell out
almost as soon as they come to most stores....so they are kind of on a
quota basis for the moment.

Would one do just as well to use a medium format camera with a
wide lens?  What other options are out their for relatively smaller
lighter cameras that offer wide angles, relatively larger negative size,

and don't distort the way swing lens cameras do?  and don't cost multy
thousands of dollars?
