Hasselblad X-pan

Yesterday, I happened to walk into a photostore when they had a Hasselblad
day.
Saw the X-pan, held it, felt it, played around with it. Beautiful camera. A
bit hefty, but that solidness creates a good feel.
They had a couple of transparencies on a light table and it looked very good.
Especially when viewed through a loupe. i didn't see any signs of light
falloff.
Demand is high, and supply is low. The rep told me (not sure it's true) that
Hasselblad had rejected many initial cameras and that therefore only few
reached the world they serve, sans Japan.
That's the bad news, because prices have since gone up. Any old prices you see
in the magazines I guarantee will not be honored. Not sure what the new prices
are, but they are substantially higher. Enough to give you that sick feeling
in the stomach, because the reason for the hike is simply this; H. can make
more dough. Your dough, no doubt.
Anyway, still a camera to consider, if you can wait and pay premium money.
What about a Mamiya 7 with pan adaptor? Then you have a 6x7 camera too.
Easier to get second hand.
Just a thought.
My 2c's worth.
