I am real pleased with with my Mirco Tek 4. I do most of my scanning on the
Transparency drawer.

I had frame shop cut me a matboard black on one side and white on the
other,to size of the tranny drawer, which is about 9x11, with an
an opening cut in the center 4x8. Then when I get ready to scan, I mount my
tranny or negatives in an assortment of precut mats that I had leftover from
when I was working full time (I think they are Franklin), and then I can have
a flat laying tranny or neg that is perfect for scanning my Linhof sizes, or
4x5s, or 2 1/4, or 7" long 35mms.

This way I don't have exteranious light bouncing around and I feel I'm
getting wonderful quality scans.

I am going to try the same with the flat print scanner, but am pleased with
that as is.
