Arras, France photograph

Dear Chat Line,

About a year and a half ago, I tried to enlist one of our European colleagues to photograph
the Railway Station Plaza in Arras, France. The purpose of the image was its incorporation
into an exhibit I was curating / producing on panoramic photography called "The Long
View" at the National Archives in College Park, Maryland. The image was to be paired with
one taken in 1919 by Fred Schutz of Washington, DC just after Armistice. The purpose
was have an 'antique vs. modern' pairing.

I was lucky. Volker Lannert of Bonn, Germany made the trip to Arras, photographed the
plaza, sent me the negative which I, in turn, scanned and printed. The image was made
part of the exhibit which stands to this day. He used the medium format RoundShot.

The reason why I bring this matter up again is because the exhibit has been selected to
remain on display for another year. This presents me with an opportunity to perform some
additions, subtractions and modifications to the images displayed.

One thing I would like to do is change the photograph of the Railway Station Plaza. While I
was most grateful to Volker for his panoramic image, I was unable to inform him of the
vantage point his image needed to be in order to be easily compared to the image from
1919, before he went and took the shot.

Therefore, I am again looking for someone in northern France, eastern Germany, southern
Belgium, or anyone else for that matter, who might be interested in taking the image for me.

Thanks a lot,
