The damnable cirkut camera never does what you think it should.  Using one
is like learning to play a violin.  Some people can do it and some folks
never get the hang of it.

 This might seem like odd advice, but don't overtech the camera.  It was
made at a time when life was much simpler and actually runs well when it
seems to be sloppy by today's standards.

Good luck with all, and please keep us posted as to your machine shop
efforts.
