IPIX claims they own the copyright for the process of de-warping images from
an 8mm fisheye lense.  I would assume that there are several ways to get the
same results.  I don't see how this is a copyrightable technology.  Sure, if
you use their algorithms, there could be a problem, but if you do it your
own way, there should be no infringement.  Look at all of the programs and
algorithms for scaling an image.  Could the first person that figured that
out have copyrighted the process?  I don't think so.
