Don't think they are completely missing, otherwise you would have
seen this problem on both sides.
These felt traps are not easy to spot, and only visible from the
front....get a strong diffuse light, and look between drum and outer
shell (vertical orientation of course)....depending where the
opening of the drum (lens) is resting, that part is visible best (although
at a very tiny angle, and only if you know what to look for).
Again, I never encountered this problem myself, so I can't give an
exact cure, other than repeating what was said in the only report I
saw on this: simply push the felt back in place.
