I've been meaning to get a groundglass for mine. I find that the viewfinder shows
less than what I get on the long axis and exactly what I get on the short axis.
This differs a great deal from the high eyepoint Nikon SLR finder I also use!
You can tell if your eye is properly aligned with the finder by lining up the
notch in the bottom of the finder with the bubble level in the lens guard.
For previsualizing, I use a modified Zone VI viewing filter. I taped it off in
panoramic format and hold it touching my glasses to get a reasonable
approximation of the Fuji frame.
I'd have my glasses etched with frames to match my different pan cameras, but I'd
have to switch to wraparound glasses!
