I'd look for a second hand film processor. If I'd had the space I could
have got one very cheaply several times in the past when labs were closing
down. However you do need to have a large throughput to justify it.
My Printo can handle test strips from about 50mm wide without problems -
needs to be perhaps 75mm minimum length. You can put smaller bits through
but the sometimes stick. I've never processed anything longer than 24
inches but no reason why you shouldn't process any length. The Intro
module could hold quite a large roll or you could keep the light off and
allow it to feed in from anywhere.
Mine can be adjusted for a 45s, 60s, 2min or 3.5min in each solution (has
to be the same in both of course.) I've never tried it for film though.
You also would need to put a reasonable amount of film through in a short
time as I think the dev would rapidly oxidise - and it takes about 2.25
litres. RA4 print dev is only useable for around a day - a little longer
if you drain it down and store in sealed bottles between periods of use.
