24x58mm frames with EOS 24mm/f3.5....ponderings....

Dear gang,
Considering the success of the Hassy Xpan (24x66mm with 45mm lens)
and Voigtlaender Bessa L (24x36mm with 15mm lens)....
....wouldn't it be nice if Canon created an EOS-mount body, no
matter how simple (look at the Voigtlaender!), that could tackle
24x58mm frames?
Since that is perfectly within the range of all the TS-E tilt/shift
lenses, 24, 45 and 90mm....normal image is 36mm wide, with 11mm shift
to both sides....makes 58mm.
And a 24mm lens on a 58mm wide frame makes an horizontal angle of 100
degree....almost equal to the horizontal view of a 14mm on a 24x36
frame (or the diagonal view of a 17mm lens).
Just curious: how many of you guys would be interested to buy such a
body, especially when kept simple & cheap? AF isn't needed for these
TS-E lenses, so a few hundred dollars are already saved....and you
only need an EOS-specific body because of the electronic aperture
control, otherwise it would be tempting to fabricated something out
of a stereo-camera....
I would buy one in a split second, since I already own a 24mm....:-))
Just so that nobody claims that the EOS system has reached perfection
already....without such a pan-body, it hasn't!
Feel free to bug Canon reps about this idea whenever you see
them....:-))
