Photographers for work with view cameras and view camera lenses are
familiar with image circles or "circle of coverage".

If you position a piece of frosted acetate (ie the groundglass) behind the
lens and bring the image into focus, you'll get an idea of how big the
image circle is.

Pinhole cameras have great image circles, anyone try a pinhole lens on a
rotating slit camera. :-)
