Going further, ... no stitching or algorithms needed for basic all encompassing
view if full circle fisheye is placed in front of long enough array and camera
makes a 360 panoramic turn. 
                                                              
Unless somebody has figured out how to make the region near the "poles" and
those near the "equator" undistorted in terms of angular coverage and surface
area represented. There probably are more concise ways of saying what I am
driving at but this is Friday afternoon. Again, cartographers and projection
specialists had this all figured out a long time ago.
