I guess that gray market Xpans (Fuji Txi) are becoming available:

At http://www.aaacamera.com/fuji_txi_kit.html AAA Camera is advertising
the Japanese version of the XPan. The price is, as one might expect,
substantially lower. I have no experience with AAA, so this is not an
endorsement.
