Questions about hardware

Hello all!

I have this problem about the hardware I should acquire to
shoot my panoramas.

Do you recommend any specific material for tripod, panhead
and camera?
Types, models?

Here in Portugal the photographic stores don't have much
material yet. It is difficult to find something that can:
- store at least 25 pictures in a PCMCIA card (medium quality,
  800x600, is that enough for the Internet?)
- some kind of remote control to shoot the pictures
- manual adjust to override automatic parameters
- resolution of at least 700x500, 24 bit-color
- external power supply (to use inside, without using
  the batteries)
- possibility to exchange lenses (15, 20, 24, 35 mmm)

Am I asking too much?
Can you recommend me 3 or 4 digital camera models so
that I can narrow my search?

Because, I have heard so much about cameras, tripods,
panheads, etc., that I have a huge list but no real
knowledge of a coherent solution for someone who just
wants starting shooting some panoramas!...
